Best ROI/Value - EDX Microbachelors/Micromasters
#1
Last week, I applied for financial aid to one of these edx microbachelors and got the 90% discount offered.  If you had an option to do something to plug in some knowledge or learning gaps, which would you chose?

The one I selected was for the IBM Full Stack Application/Cloud Development option, I think it'll go well with the Coursera counterpart, their IBM Full Stack Software Developer Professional Certificate

I highly suggest getting all the cheapies/freebies on Coursera and EDX combined, this price is originally $713.90, but I got it for roughly $72 and the Coursera/TADA offerings are FREE.

Financial Aid scenario you have provided is awesome. Can it be done for TESU MicroBachelor course as well? Just not sure if it applies to certain Edx programs or all.

Yes you can, you have to write a few 'reasons' (3 essays with 2500 characters) why you need the assistance and they'll see what they can do. Almost all classes are accepted except for a few (Bachelors, Masters, professional certificates, etc). The most they'll allow is 5/year, you can't get more than 5 courses, so for example you're interested in a few EDX program with a total of 6 or more courses, you'll have to pay full price on the 6th and subsequent courses.

EDX financial assistance program is awesome, they let you apply for at most 5 times every 12 months. So technically, you can get 5 courses at 90% off for each.

Anyways, these are valid for professional certificates, there is only one way to find out if it has financial aid or not, you take the 'audit' version of the course, then you apply for financial aid using their link.

If the course financial aid link has a drop down arrow for you to select the course, you're good, if it doesn't show that drop down, then that course doesn't have aid at all.

Here's the 3 steps in greater detail: https://support.edx.org/hc/en-us/article...Assistance-

Check the date for your Final Exams in edX for those courses.
I think that the final exams´ date has passed for both courses for the current run.

I just got email for Financial Aid in regards to the HarvardX courses, Energy & Thermodynamics, sounds interesting... It's a chemistry course, with that name I would have guessed it's a Physics course. I am going to see if I can get another couple more courses from HarvardX/EDX partnership, something to work on in addition to the freebie Coursera/TADA offerings.

Hmm, here's the Link: https://www.edx.org/microbachelors/harva...-chemistry
