If, like myself, you aren't using the TI BA II Plus line (I'm using the HP 10BII),
Calculator Tutorial Index | TVMCalcs.com might be helpful. I think only the TIs, Sharp EL-733A, and HP 10BII are allowable on the DSSTs.

I need to buy a new calculator for my Principles of Finance exam (I need a new one anyway) Does anyone have any recommendations as to which is easiest to learn, most intiutive for a Finance newbie? I will be doing this exam next after Macroeconomics.
Thank for any recommendatins/advice you can provide!

I have tried several calculators and the TI BA II is the best hands down. Does everything you need it to do and is relatively simple to learn...plus I think you can get one for 20-30 bucks...
good luck - I am taking finance next as well, let me know if you come across any good study resources
thanks

I'm taking it next as well but I plan to avoid the calculator controversy by using the tables. I just started preparing this morning. I have the BA II but don't plan to use it.

Got it. Thanks Barcotta! I'm currently struggling with Macroeconomics - it's like a new language and is rough going for me right now as this is completely new. I have experience in day-to-day basic project financials but this is all new (and formal!). Yuck! It would be nice if I could learn to like this stuff!

I didn't like it even a little. Soooo glad that one's in the bag. Good luck. You'll get it--but it is painful.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this stuff difficult. I just need to figure out the approach that will work for me. Certainly not the one I've used in the past. IC as a first approach is not getting me there, I've downloaded all the SparkNotes material and some of it works for me and some of it I just don't plain understand, so now I'm heading off to the library to see if I can find some other resources to give me more context. I don't remember stuff if I don't understand it...
Thanks for the encouragement!

Based upon the scores that I see you have received on your prior exams, you probably don't need to get other resources - go for it!!!
