Any Canadians out there?
#1
Hi everyone. This is my first post of what will hopefully be many asking for (and eventually giving) advice.

I've spent the last week researching the big 3, tracking down old transcripts and pre-planning my final push to a degree after a four year "break."

I have, from a traditional Canadian university, between 57 and 66 transferable credits. I won't know for sure until my course-by-course evaluation comes back.

The next step for me is to pick one of the big 3, apply and begin testing out of as many courses as possible. Unfortunately, I am still on the fence as to which school is right for me.

Any fellow Canadians out there willing to share their experiences?

Does anyone have any general advice on which school is going to be able to accept the most credits towards a BSc degree in Business if the bulk of them are English Lit/Theory and History courses?

I am not Canadian, sorry, -- but welcome to the forumSmile This a good group of helpful people so hopefully you will get some answers to your questions.

I think all 3 schools take as many credits as possible regardless if they are English Lit/ History courses. Here is a thread that talks about deciding on which of the big 3 to choose. Each school has it's advantages and disadvantages based on your situation. This thread will help you think about different things to consider. Also, if you maybe start a thread asking for help for a BS Business "Roadmap" (thats what we call it on this forum) and list all your courses that you have taken in the past-- that might give people more info to help with your question. Hope this helps!

Sure, I was in the same position.

I researched to death the best school for me which was Excelsior, but may be different for you.

I submitted my University transcripts to them via a third party who will evaluate International credits. Call Excelsior as I'm sure they will give you procedure and where to send the transcripts...sorry it was years ago when I did this. But one good thing is Excelsior has the concept of a Credit Bank where your credits are now at least evaluated and (more-or-less) transferable to most of the other online schools. At the time it cost a few hundred but it is a good move to get those credits pushed to a credit bank ASAP. This way you can define your goals based on what your credits are really worth.
