BURNT OUT! - Where can I buy some motivation!

Is it the substance of the classes or the workload or just a combination of all life responsibilities in general.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

I watched the Randy Pausch lecture again this weekend

Which one? His last lecture?

Yes. So, don't throw things, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first time- maybe my memory remembers it differently. Of course, if you last until the end, the final 1 minute may make you cry like a baby. It did me (again).

Amazingly enough, I passed my Engineering Economic Analysis course with a 95.6%. I'm totally stunned by this because I seriously considered dropping this class in the beginning. Thank goodness for another semester under my belt. One more semester to go and then graduation!

Awesome dude!!

You couldn't PAY me to take more than one course at a time when I start my Masters next fall.

I mean really.

I mean if the choice is between taking two classes and merely rasslin' a grizzly bear, I'd say,

"Bring on yer bear!!!"

It was bad enough taking ONE undergrad class and studying for a TECEP simultaneously. I put off finishing my PLA portfolio over and over again because classes got in the way.

Oh? I was supposed to be encouraging him???!??
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

I'm a her...but. ..this last class was supposed to be the hardest of all of them so I am praying that advanced project management doesn't have a ton of complicated new material. I will be okay if it's just building on what we already learned in the project management class. I expect the other two classes to be somewhat writing intensive and that's fine with me because I can type 80 words per minute. Just don't give me more calculations.

I had always loved math until taking that engineering class...now everytime I see a bridge or hear about an arithmetic gradient, I will cringe.

I know grade point averages are not that important in grad school but I have a 4.0 right now and I really am working hard to try and keep it not because it's important to my career but as a personal goal...

I'm in the same boat. Not to toot my own horn, but I left my first year of college with 30ish credits from traditional classes as well as AP credits. I was on scholarship at a very respectable state school with a "household name", but personal issues forced me to stop going.

From January of 2015, until now, I've finished 3 credits every two friggin' weeks, while completing an actual online course as to attain a good GPA. By January of 2016, I will be done and would have finished 90 credits through credit-by-exam. (Again, not trying to toot my own horn here.)

Motivation? Being done is what motivates me. Moving on from this part of life motivates me. This has been the most dreadful and difficult chapter in life and I just want to be done with it so I can be a young working adult and get on with my life.

So I just turn off the excessive thinking/anxiety (which has been always a huge problem for me) and just do it. Time has been flying while working like this, which sucks because I didn't enjoy much this past year, but it also means that the end will be here before I can even fathom it.

IDK if it provides you with the same level of drive, but finally being over with this chapter in life seems to be doing the trick for me.

That's probably part of it. It's been a long suffering process. I began my AA at the beginning of 2013. Now finishing my MS at the end of spring 2016. Tons of testing out. Also, four professional certifications along the way. Not tooting my own horn but it's amazing when I look back on all that I've accomplished. Then perhaps we should toot because we've worked hard for this. I didn't even know I had this much stamina for educational goals. Infact, there are about five people on this board that could toot a horn because of my accomplishments. My family could certainly do some tooting because they've had to put up with a lot this last couple of years. I could not have done any of this without this board or the people in my life that are giving me support and ignoring my mood swings.

Just crazy tired.

Being done is definitely and motivation but now I see myself browsing doctorates and I'm like please sit down and just enjoy this accomplishment first. In fact, I even considered getting another certification during my break this winter but my husband said no. Lol
