I'm a first time poster that has been lurking for a while trying to figure out which path to a degree would best fit into my life. (unpredictable swing schedule with various hours of overtime) I finally decided on testing out of as much as possible and got my butt in gear this month. I've put together a degree plan based on Sanantone's BSBA in accounting plan and there were a couple redundancies I saw with my gen eds and I just wanted to run it by people who have experience with testing out! I have 9 credits from community college and I've been flying through the free/very low cost credit options on the wikia. Please excuse the colors/overall setup of the excel sheet. Also, any advice in lowering the cost would be greatly appreciated as well!
First, the problems with your plan (I can tell it's an older plan):
1) You're missing a course under Knowledge of Human Cultures
2) You have 2 math electives, and you only need 1 (Stats)
3) Under "Concentration" which is now called "Core", you have your Accounting courses listed, which isn't how it works
4) You need to have your Area of Study (AOS) showing separately under the Core courses, and you have to include specific accounting courses (Intermediate Accounting I & II) The remaining 4 courses must be UL.
1) I would immediately apply to TESU, and then sign up for the Strategic Management TECEP exam - that is going away after the June term, so you should sign up for it ASAP, since it will save you $1400.
2) While you're doing that, I would apply for the Study.com Guardian scholarship. If you get it, great. That's 6 free courses.
3) While you're waiting to see if you get the Study.com scholarship, you should sign up for Study.com anyway (at least for a month) and get the affiliate membership price at TESU - it will save you $300 for the cornerstone (waived) plus $700 for the residency fee (normally $2500, only $1800 with membership at Study.com). While you're there, take 2 courses.
4) While we're talking about Study.com, they are getting some additional Accounting courses ACE-approved, so you may want to wait to take any Accounting courses until you know if you prefer SL or Study.com. Either way, they offer Applied Managerial Accounting and Advanced Accounting, which you can replace the CSU-Global courses with.
5) To save on costs, consider taking the College Composition with Essay CLEP exam. It is $80 plus testing center fees, but it comes in as English Comp I & II, saving you a ton of time and some money for the SL English courses.
6) An additional money saver - consider taking the A&I Lit CLEP for the Info Lit Requirement - it's also 6cr, so it's a 2-fer. The extra 3cr goes to Gen Ed Electives.
7) Your biggest money-savings by far is going to be the TECEP for the BSBA capstone. If you don't get it by the June term, then you will have to take it as a TESU online course for $1500. Instead, the TECEP is $117. If you want to stop everything and begin studying for that so you can take it sooner rather than later, that's a good plan too. If you sign up by April 30 (?), you can still get into the May term. If you fail, you can then sign up to take it again in the June term.
8) You next biggest savings is going to be graduating before the Study.com affiliate membership pricing goes away - that's $700. But, even if you don't make it, you'll still get the $300 cornerstone waived.
I created a new spreadsheet for you that's easier to work with. A couple of things to look at:
1) One of the TEEX courses (maybe even 2?) will count in Understanding the Physical & Natural World, so you can delete a science course.
2) I left your Free Electives with 1cr short - you will need to fill that, but if you get the Study.com scholarship, your first course required is Personal Finance, which comes in as a Free Elective. So that will go there. If you don't get the scholarship, I would recommend something really easy from Saylor like Intro to Business or Student Success or Personal Finance or something like that.

check out this one, I did a much needed update to Sanatone's. However, Dfrecore already pointed out your errors but mainly due to outdated information.

@dfrecore - Thank you so much for helping with the spreadsheet. That helped immensly and made it feel much more attainable! I just applied for the Guardian scholarship and am hoping to register with TESU next week. Unfortunately the way money is throughout the month it's never very forgiving around the 1st. I'll be signing up with Study.com that same week as well! Hopefully I will be able to register and pass the TECEP before they take that away.
@Synicaal - I wish I would've seen that earlier, it would've saved a lot of time! I also completely forgot about shmoop! That's a pretty low cost way to flesh out a couple extra credits as well (as long as I work fast).
