Thanks so much for this guide sanantone, just a quick question to you though, for principle of statistics you put the options but ALEKS offers both intro to statistics and business statistics, will either one satisfy the principles of statistics requirement?
#4
Yes, they duplicate each other. TESC used to transcribe business statistics as operations management, but not anymore.

COS-261 should work as a CIS elective. That is your hardest part to fill out so make sure you get credit for that.
You can take the CLEP info sys and comp applications for the 3cr Compu Lit requirement.
DSST MIS is also a CIS elective as well as the TESC Networking Technology TECEP
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU
Enrolled at NCU in the PhD Applied Computer Science

Thank you for the input ryoder! I just have one issue, I'm looking up info for COS-261 and I cannot find anything on it. Could you provide the course title? Thanks

EDIT: Looking at my transcript I see that COS-261 is already on my list but as a Business Elective. Should that be right because Discrete Mathematics was a Computer Science course when I took it at the university.

You might need to use the PLA search tool (since it includes courses they match things too):
Thomas Edison State College: Course Offerings

Discrete Structures I (COS-261) 3.00 s.h.*
Introduction to algebraic structures fundamental to various areas of computer science. Graphs, planar graphs, algorithms on graphs and their analysis, sequential machines and their minimization, semi-groups, groups and their application to computer science.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

Thanks everyone, I have finally put together my final degree path and would like some final support from you all. I have created a spread sheet which is much easier to read and I would like to know if everything checks out. I would also love some suggestions for the CIS 18 credit area and my electives. Please let me know if I am missing anything, something is wrong, or if there are other alternatives to courses such as Penn Foster. Thank you guys so much, I cannot wait to begin my journey!

The 18 credit CIS area is going to be your most difficult area to fulfill.

You should petition to get the COS class in there and then you can add in the MIS DSST and the Network Technology TECEP.
Thats all you can use from testing options so I recommend taking some TESC courses. They aren't that bad and the cost is ok. There are cheaper alternatives but you will feel good about taking some classes at TESC. It will connect you more to the school and you will learn.

I took computer architecture at TESC. It was not easy but the format allows you to get 50% of your grade from the home work which you should get 100% on if you are smart.
