I've been following this forum for a while and found it extremely interesting.
I'm looking for career advancement, but to do so I need a degree (related to my field). I have a 20-year background in the electronics industry, as an electronic technician first and then as a PCB designer.  I've been exploring options, and TESU seems promising. However, I've come across information suggesting that not all credits from external sources are accepted. Considering this, I'm curious about the realistic timeframe for obtaining the degree. Additionally, I'd appreciate suggestions for alternative institutions to TESU. Thank you in advance for any insights you can provide!

If you are starting from scratch, there should be no worries about TESU or others not accepting outside credits as you can tailor the outside credits to just the ones that are accepted at whatever school you would like to attend. Just make sure that the school and electronics program you choose fits your goal. For example, Excelsior has an Electronics Technology degree, which is different than an Electrical Engineering degree.

The two mentioned are both ABET and here are the links to the programs from Excelsior and TESU

Note: Both are Engineering Technology programs, which are similar but not exactly Electronics or Engineering

Sorry if this might be obvious, but would it be preferable to take just the core electronic courses and electives with Tesu, and the rest with Sophia or other providers? Would be beneficial in terms of time/costs?

Yes, for both Excelsior and TESU, you should do all the credits you can with alternative credits through ACE & NCCRS. You can also look for any RA institutions that may have cheaper classes to transfer into Excelsior/TESU. Classes that can be done with Saylor.org, Sophia.org, Study.com, and StraighterLine can all be done first. You can create a spreadsheet and link us to your one/google drive, make the file viewable, not editable, we can comment on what can be modified to make it better for you.

Hi there,

I'm interested in finding out if I can fulfill the language requirements for admission at TESU by completing 9 semester credit hours through online courses from providers like Sophia.org or Study.org. This could potentially save me the $450 I would otherwise spend on TOEFL or IELTS exams here in Switzerland. Furthermore, I believe these credits might also count towards advancing within the degree I'm interested in, Electronics Systems Engineering Technology. I would greatly appreciate any insights or guidance on this matter.
