Hi, I'm following the guide on the Wiki using sophia. I originally wanted to go to WGU but I'm not entirely sure if I want my bachelor's yet. I've gotten my Google IT Certificate, and finished the Visual Communications course in Sophia. Is it possible to avoid all touchstones and get the degree with Pierpont? I know I'd need the graded RA credit, which I plan on getting with ASU at some point. However, I have 3.00 credits that were pass/fail from a previous attempt at college for Quantitative Reasoning. If I do Environmental Science, and use the 3 I have from my local CC will that count as 6 full credits in math/science? And can I just do Visual Communications only to satisfy the Communications credit?

I've been working on it as well and just finished with 66 credits by doing the 12 credit Google IT Cert (free TADA), ASU 1 credit CIS 194 course (25 dollars), 3 credits from CSM Learners High Performance Course (39 dollars) ,and the rest in 1 month of Sophia. I ended up doing 19 courses I believe on Sophia just busting my a$$ for 30 days straight. I will find out this week if I am completely done. If they accept everything I have done I will post my list of courses I personally took as soon as I know for sure but I didn't do 1 touchstone as of yet.
Completed:
UMPI: BA Criminal Justice Pierpont: AAS BOG w/ Emphasis in Information Systems Sophia: 24 Courses - The CSM Course - ASU: CIS 194 Business Technology Fundamentals Coursera: Google IT, Google Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst

I think that you must take English Comp I as one of your Communications credits, and then the other can be any communications course.
TESU BSBA/HR 2018 - WVNCC BOG AAS 2017 - GGU Cert in Mgmt 2000

It's unclear whether you need English Comp I specifically or not. IIRC, at least one student has obtained a Pierpont degree without any English Comp at all. If you want to try to avoid Touchstones as much as possible, I would see if Communication at Work + Visual Communication will meet the English/Communication requirements. Or Foundations of English Comp + Visual Communication. Foundations is very easy and the Touchstones are quite short.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA Completed: Pierpont - AAS BOG Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses) ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

They list their own courses that will fulfill the required areas. If you choose a similar course, you will be good to go. And yes, you can earn it without completing English Composition. Just make sure it is labelled Communication. Speech Communication, Interpersonal Communication, etc. If you don't like the way Sophia does their courses, you may want to try Study.com. You watch a video and take a quiz. At the end, you take a final exam (upper level courses require papers and projects).

The list that Pierpont has on their own site is narrower than what Ms. Parks will actually accept as being valid. It's a good starting point, but but don't necessarily think that you MUST use only the courses they have listed.

There's only one slot now in that category, 2 in math and/or science. In looking at what they show, it's a possible but I don't know if it would be certain. In math however, I do believe Foundations Of College Algebra will work based on one of the math's they show as accepted.

You're right. I keep forgetting that it's only 3 credits of English/Communications, not 6. But before they changed it, I'm pretty sure at least one student used Foundations of English Comp.

And I get it....I looked at their webpage outline for this degree, then turned around and was using an old degree plan layout with the previous requirements. It took me 20 minutes to realize what I was doing. I threw it away so I wouldn't screw up a plan again. LOL

You don't need English Comp. Here is what I transferred in from Sophia and this covered everything except the RA with ASU:
