BA in Psych Degree Plan - Help Appreciated

I want to obtain a BA in Psych from one of the Big Three by only testing out and/or using Straighterline. I am hoping to earn a Master of Social Work degree at my local university afterwards. I have zero college credits that I can transfer towards the BA but I have completed 11 FEMA credits. I would prefer to go to Thomas Edison. I see that TESC has changed a lot of their requirements for their degree programs so I was wondering if someone could provide me with an updated degree plan for a BA in Psych.

I just read on another forum that by taking the GRE Subject Exam for Psychology that Excelsior will award me 30 semester-hours of credit. Is this still true? If so, I would prefer to attend Excelsior.

no, they also changed their requirements and how much credit they'll award
now they don't give any for the GRE

I was going to do my psych degree at COSC by taking the GRE, but they only award 3 UL credits for the Psychology GRE. I ended up completing a social science degree at TESC. I was only 3 courses away from a psychology degree, but I had a fear of statistics at the time and the abnormal psychology ECE was more expensive. ECE and Uexcel are now called Uexcel ECEP and most of the exam fees have been reduced to $95. You might be able to test out of a psychology degree at COSC with the exception of the capstone and cornerstone. You can test out of a psychology degree at TESC with the exception of the capstone.

Most MSW programs will allow you to enter with just about any degree, but you'll end up having to take a bunch of additional courses (something long the lines of pre-reqs). If you enter with an actual BSW, you get put in an 'advanced standing' degree path that's usually around 30-33 credits/two years in length. Without, it's much longer, as much as 60 credits to complete.

USC (Southern California not South Carolina) offers a MSW online. A good name. Here is there criteria from their website:

• A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university, with a minimum of 18 units of interdisciplinary liberal arts coursework, spanning both social and biological sciences
  
• A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 grading scale)
  
• Strong academic promise to perform successfully at the graduate level
  
• Experience in providing service to people preferred
  
• Potential for professional competence, strong interest and motivation, and commitment to social work values such as the appreciation for cultural and ethnic diversity; belief in the dignity and freedom of every individual; promotion of social justice and equal access to resources; and institutional responsiveness to human needs and social change

Both programs shared require a grade point average, which requires taking COURSES AT THE COLLEGE you pick. In addition, prereqs that require letter grades means Straighterline and CLEP will not work as a pass/fail option. I'm not being negative, just helping the OP plan for success instead of surprise.
