BA English at TESU

TESU's BA in English is not a cheap degree. Your options for Survey of Lit I & II, A&I Lit, and Non-Western Lit all are fine. Then Study.com's Advanced Tech Writing, Short Stories, and English Lit. Coopersmith's Medieval Hispano-Jewish Poetry comes in there as well.

Then you need 3 more UL courses. The cheapest options are:
- U of Idaho IS has 3 UL, but my guess is 2 of them (Business Writing & Technical Writing) duplicate the Study.com course and I wouldn't chance it. Instead, take Engl 4476: Shakespeare for $570
- CSU-Pueblo IS has 2 UL courses: ENG 354: Women Writers of Science Fiction & ENG 370: Rediscovering the Fairy Tale for $615 each.

I have an English degree from TESU.

I took the non-Western Lit from them directly. Study.com has a course they're working on for non-Western Lit so if you save that for last they may come through for you.

Sophia has gone real cheap since I did mine so you might as well do everything you can through them.

CLEP the American Lit stuff.

Your primary concern is going to be getting the Non-Western and the UL electives done, that's where I had my problems. There are no "good" options for the electives so you're just going to have to decide what college you want to take them from. TESU's course on African Encounters is what I did and it's tedious garbage. I believe they offer a Chinese Lit course that might be better, no idea. The Holocaust stuff is viable but extremely draining to do.

The UL courses done at other Universities will provide her a transcript with grades and so on... After TESU accepts to transfer these credits, do they keep the grades and take them into account to calculate GPA?
By the way, it seems CSU-Pueblo IS does not offer those courses anymore (I will double-check later as I'm super sleepy now).

Yeah, I would not do a degree in Childhood Dev if I didn't want to be a preschool teacher.  That seems like a huge waste of time for someone who wants to be an English teacher.

Courses done at other universities will each give a transcript with a GPA.  Grades "stay" at each school.  So she'll have multiple transcripts, each with it's own calculated GPA.

Competency-based, not 100% the degree she's looking for, but she might be able to get through it quickly (which would mean cheaply); they accept ACE credit

This is actually a good idea, I will read and later when gets back from work we can discuss about. Last we talked, she mentioned again being interested in moving on to Master's and Doctorate, so getting 30 graded credits may be better than 3 transcripts with 1 or 2 graded credits. On top of that, it looks like it could be done by spending about the same amount of money and time.
SNHU program also accepts ACE, but apparently, the only accessible options for us are saylor and sophia. We have invested already in 4 TECEP exams (before I found the forum).
I will try to get more info on UMPI program, not much in their website, but it's possible she will find it interesting as well.

You shouldn't have an issue with schools accepting TECEP exams, those are on an RA transcript (although not graded).  They are a step above CLEP, and 10 steps above ACE.

Also, having multiple transcripts is not usually an issue.  Getting into a Master's program shouldn't be an issue with that - but not having enough graded credits MAY be a problem depending on the program (but really, she's probably going to want to go to an inexpensive school to do this, not a super competitive one anyway).

I've read a few things in this forum about UMPI and repeatedly saw compliments about their good communication.
I should have also asked them about study.com (SDC), they only mention clearly saylor and sophia, and in a different list SL, Pearson, and Ed4Online; but nothing about SDC.
The same question persists to SNHU, haven't found info on whether they accept SDC or not.

Asking that because apparently only sophia and saylor wouldn't be enough to reach the 90 credits. There's like 30 credits from them, plus the 4 TECEP she's taking (Comp I&II [done], Marriage/Family and Psychology of Women). So she would still need the other half...
