All good options, but wayyyyy to complected. (and expensive)
The easiest option is to walk into your community college's office tomorrow morning and enroll as a degree seeking AA student (Yes, we know you are not technically seeking a degree, but you enroll as such or the admissions girl will be confused and screw this very simple process up). In most communities, there is no fee for enrollment- you'd be a fool to pay one of the big 3 to enroll or credit bank.
You will then quickly request your previous classroom credit on an official transcript to your community college. Next, find out which CLEPs your community college accepts for the AA program and get er done. List your community college as the "receiving school" when you take your CLEP. If you can do it with one 6-credit CLEP, that would be the fastest- it might take two 3-credit exams, but not a big deal.
Notes- your community college may charge a transcription fee, this can be a few dollars per credit if they do (not everyone does).
Your community college also may require you take a free placement exam (ASSET, COMPASS, etc) this isn't anything to worry about- just schedule it ASAP and don't waste CLEP study time on the exam- you won't be seeking a degree with them, so your placement isn't important.
If your community college tells you to fill out a financial aid packet, simply decline. (this will also confuse them

)
Also, CLEP credit is
earned credit so don't worry about that. The distinction is when credit is earned as honorary-like Dolly Pardon's Doctorate degree.
Just an interjection -Don't bother with FEMA via Fredrickson either- unnecessary. One CLEP and your done.
