I have to take the Art of the Western World Dantes exam. I see there isn't a study guide for this subject on the intantcert website. Has anyone taken this, if so what did you study?
Thank you very much in advance...

I'm so glad you asked this as I'm going to take this too! This is what I will use:
1. REA AP Art History book
2. Art History textbook that I have
3. The Teaching Company History of European Art (may be available at your library or someone suggested another series available on the Internet Resource: Art of the Western World)
I would love to hear from others that have done this test.

I've been scanning the threads and I read a post of someone who used the AP guide and got a 66. That being said we are studying this right now and are using:
1. AP Art History (Barron's)
2. DSST's Art of the Western World (eek! I got a 45 on the first practice test!)
3. The Teaching Company's European Art series... (48 30 minute lectures, taught with expertise and description but too time consuming for some, making us feel like we're in a real class, and he is covering material in an organized outline that is helping us get the timeline down)
I'd love to know how these materials compare to the exam.
Passed:

My only results on Amazon are the Rudman's Art of the Western World study guide ($26) and the Official DSST Study Guide ($45). Any tips to acquiring the right materials are much appreciated: I'd like to take this exam soon-ish.

The Rudman's is the one I'm using. :-0
I hit the library today, as is my custom, and came away with several DK type books covering the Renaissance, Picasso, Architecture and Michelangelo. They also had several Sister Wendy's Art VHS tapes so I'll be reviewing my treasures in a week or two when we test.
The good news is that ds made a 49 and dd a 55 on their first practice test from the AP book and we're only a week into our study.
We spent the evening watching a PBS Frank Lloyd documentary which seemed a bit too in depth and somewhat off topic, but it was fascinating.

There is a lot of good information there but only 7 posts last time I checked. I'll see if my library has the Wood book.
Thanks!

As of today I have abandoned the Rudman book as it was doing great violence to my self esteem. I'm in the 70's in the Barron's AP practice exams and we have almost finished the 48 30 minute lectures from the Teaching Company. We have an appointment for the exam on Wednesday and barring any more snow we should know the results that afternoon.
BTW, I loathe mannerism, in case anyone was wondering, and I'm tired of nudity.
