Care packages have arrived
#1
I am happy to announce that I have received my first care package today. The best part about it is that it was from a fellow forum member. You guys are awesome. My troops have proceeded in tearing it apart Big Grin
I'm keeping the coffee though.
Thank you,

Please post information on how to send care packages easily on the forum.
If there is a way that people like me could pony up fifty dollars on an online send a care package site without having to go to the store and the ups store, that would be great. I'll send REA books too!

You don't have to do UPS. It's much cheaper to do a flat rate box from USPS. If you're sending to a military base, it's only $14.95, regardless of weight. Just whatever you can cram into those little boxes. I bet you could get at least several REA books.

I have a general disdain for the USPS which wastes a lot of taxpayer money each year and fails to run a tight ship.
I think a care package.com type of site could be built which could aggregate shipments to save money. Fifteen of fifty dollars seems like a high overhead. I would rather just wire cash to the troops than waste fifteen dollars on needless transport costs.

hilarious Western Union is just as bad, if not worse. lol they'll charge you 15 bucks to wire your 50 and they're not even physically sending anything.

I like the idea of aggregating stuff to send. I also agree with you about the USPS, but if taxpayer dollars are supporting it, at least you're sending something to benefit the troops.
