Okay here I am a little late in reporting. I was in the middle of the lovely blizzard. We got almost close to 5 ft with the drifts. Yes I am a hardy New Englander....LOL. On Friday when all of this winter wonderland stuff started, my daughter and I took a walk that evening. Snow everywhere. Streets abandoned of all life. It actually was magical. The snow looked like diamonds. That of course went into Saturday night also. Lost power for a bit. I must say I did ask Santa for a generator for Christmas. Since I was a very good girl this year, I also asked for a pellet stove. Glamorous right? hilarious I got a pair of gloves instead. I really do not believe I was on the naughty list. But perhaps maybe I was. All I can say is that it snowed and there is nothing I could do about it. Spring is around the corner.

OpenRoot Wrote:We live in Boston and our governer issued an Executive order yesterday banning non-emergency workers from driving. EVERYTHING is closed so we all have had snow days from work and school. The husband has been entertaining the kids building a snow fort so I can study - I think I'm almost ready for the Intro to Psych exam since I've spent pretty much all of yesterday and today studying between making bread bowls, pots of chili and clam chowder. Anyone else snowed in? Whatcha doin'?

Used to get a fair amount of those when we lived in Colorado. Those were the days... in California now and I sooooooooooooo miss the snow :p

Down here in Alabama, they discussed the possibility of snow one time last year and schools and employers closed because it might fall (not stick, just fall). I grew up in Pennsylvania, then lived in Chicago. I miss it, too. My son has only ever seen it on television. We need to visit the family one of these winters.

Snow... I wish. Here we don't get snow, just beautiful weather through winter with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. It's great... until Summer (which begins in May, I might add). Then the 100+ degree temperatures begin and in June/July the 110+ degree temperatures begin. Spring has already arrived, BTW.
Snow is only a two hour drive away, though. I did spend time in snow.

I live in Rhode Island now, but I used to live in California. I tell people here in Rhode Island that we have snow in California --- we just don't live in it.
I have to say though, summers in Rhode Island are really nice.
