I have the PDS and a bunch of other FEMA, Cyber-Security for Everyone completed, what else? I have looked through the sister site's list which is huge but hard to figure out what is good and what is fluff, etc. Lol.

These seem right up your alley. Some of the courses have pretty outdated technology so you may have to fight your computer/browser a bit to get them to work.

As for my hobbies, I like to sail and handicap horse races. I used to rent a Cessna for an hour or two every now and then to keep the rust off my flying skills, but unfortunately I haven't had time to do so for some time now... (fortunately pilot licenses don't expire)

My trade is a chef, so that lends itself to lots of interesting hobbies. I enjoy all aspects of food topics, from public health and food insecurity to growing vegetable gardens, nutrition, food culture and anthropology, food preparation, extreme coupon grocery shopping, food science, throwing/catering parties, butchering, fishing, restaurant trends, reading and writing menus, etc. If it relates to food it's pretty much in my interest circle. My thesis was nutrition education taught in culinary arts degree programs, but my current job is as a nutrition research chef (which isn't really about nutrition or research or cheffing, but anyway.....). Also very interested in beverages.

I probably won't be going back on-stage any time soon. The doctor is still pretty sure that the right meniscus is torn as well, and in the mean time I hurt my back trying to compensate for my knees. I was in physical therapy for my back, but the insurance will only cover one thing at a time. So when the doctor gives me the "okay", I will be doing physical therapy for the first knee while waiting to see if the second heals on its own. One PT on the first knee is finished, I'll probably finish PT on my back. At that point will see if the second knee needs surgery or not. I've put on 50 lbs since being off-stage though, so I'd had to really drop the weight in order to go back on-stage... if the doctor even thinks I should. The good news though is that even though I don't qualify for unemployment (I was a 1099 contractor), I do qualify for the "work opportunity tax credit" through the department of vocational rehabilitation (DVR). As a matter of fact, DVR actually has placed me with a job developer, who gets paid $1,300 if she can find me a reasonable position... which is really great. I did actually turn down a job a few weeks ago that would have been a great opportunity, as an executive director for a non-profit... the board president was just incredibly rude. I feel like I'm finally making progress though, and I am working a small 10hr a week job doing marketing for a substance abuse rehab center. There are days where I do miss the stage though.

I just watched this video - kudos to you! I actually do a lot of volunteering for anti-human trafficking & sex trafficking. When I first saw you were in Ohio, that's what came to mind... the trafficking is so prominent there. I am hoping to find a job soon, or at least after I finish my BA, that would involve helping victims of sex trafficking in a residential environment.

@Sweetsecret Hope you have a speedy recovery.

When it comes to my hobbies, I get intensely involved in them for some time and then I usually wake up one day, decide I don't feel like doing them anymore, and never do them again. This process occurred with golf (I would practice my swings and chip everyday on my lawn), spraypainting (I would spray paint for hours after school everyday), whittling (I would whittle until my eyes hurt from being so focused on staring at the wood), and countless other activities. I do the same thing with music lol. Listen to the same stuff until I get sick of it, then move on.

I have gotten into a lot of crafts in the last couple of years, I do scrap-booking, jewelry making, photography and some sewing. When my kids were younger and I lived in NJ I did lots of fund raising, for school, sports, scouts and church now I do none of that. I also love to read and since I have more time am averaging 2-3 books a week, I do volunteer at the library and help with book sales.

I also consider my substitute aide work as a part time hobby, working full days with very special children for $50 a day is almost volunteering. Smile

sanantone you are like a super hero when it comes to certs.. lol hahahahahhaa

sweet secret I just bought a blender too. I am mixing milk with spinach, peanut butter, oats, bananas, olive oil, whey protein and a bunch of other fruits. it's pretty tasty and you can try out a million combos.

the non profits for skateboarding is a sick hobby

also the volunteering for sex traffickers. that is nuts how did you get into that? I am picturing you going undercover and finding prostitutes and trying to get in deep with their pimps.

linda have you read this blog post?
http://ayearofreadingtheworld.com/ would be interesting to start on that goal! I want to do it but I want to do it in like ten years.

For awhile I was a licensed locksmith, but since moving out of state no longer keep my license. Other than that I'm the same as sanantone and continue to take any certification course that I can, most free, but some I've paid some money out for. If I listed all my certifications/training courses I've been to it would take up at least two pages of an excel spreadsheet with standard formatting
