Any CBEs for graduate school?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any exams-for-credit for graduate school. Upper level DSST or another stream of exams?

There really aren't any CBE at the Masters level. There are the self paced and inexpensive VESI courses through St. Catherine's and Morningside College St. Catherine University Continuing Education - Distance Learning for Teachers - Professional Development for Teachers I had 4 credits worth approved for the MAIS at Western new mexico University but wound up dropping out of the program before taking them. If you find any others please be sure to share!

Some graduate programs will give credit for the CISSP and PMP certifications. I once heard that there was this ACE-approved business certification that was a series of tests. I can't remember the name of the company now, but I looked it up, and it was expensive. I also couldn't find it on the ACE National Guide.

Certified MBA (CMBA) was a professional certification designed as an "objective measure of a student's grasp of the MBA skill set". It was offered by the International Certification Institute. The website was certifiedmba.com, which as of 2/14/2013 has been taken down. The exams were administered by Prometric.
The CMBA focused on the "10 key subject areas" comprising the MBA "core curriculum" (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Quantitative Analysis, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Finance, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, and Business Strategy).
The certification was a series of exams taken over several days. Each 4-hour exam focused on several of the subject areas and was composed of multiple choice questions.
The certification was incorporated into the Western Governors University MBA program [1] for several years.

The name eludes me now, but there is a distance MBA offered by what I think is a university in the UK. It can be completed by taking their sort of in-house CBEs. With WGU's Information Security master's program, you can have some of the competencies completed by already having the certifications that are incorporated into the program.

Besides the MBA, Edinburgh Business School offers Master of Science degrees in Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Strategic Planning which are also completed through examinations.

I know about HW...I never thought about taking their exams and transferring them back out. Also, while they are CBE, don't you have to sit for them at HW .... In England? I didn't realize they were accessible any other way.

Not at all! EBS has more than 370 exam centres worldwide. They have almost 16000 alumni in 160 countries. For good measure, "All 7 core [MBA] courses are available in Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic."

As a Briton, I'm appalled that you would think Edinburgh is in England. :p I'll forgive you this once though.

Most U of L distance programs are exam-based as well (minus perhaps a thesis/project component), and they probably have more exam centres around the world than any other university. U of L International Programmes are extremely popular all over the former British Empire, especially in Asia. The U of L exams are very rigorous though and should not in any way be compared to CLEPs. As far as MBAs are concerned though, Royal Holloway is generally considered superior to Heriot-Watt, although neither rank even close to the top business schools in the UK. The other U of L colleges offering Master's degrees though International Programmes are generally world-class in their field though, especially SOAS, LSHTM, and to a lesser extent Birkbeck for psychology.

To characterize HW and U of L modules as "credit by exam" though would not be entirely accurate though and could send the wrong message to OP who is probably looking for something more like an Ohio University exam which can be studied for with outside resources rather than taking courses which have an exam as the sole formal evaluation metric.
