Hello All,
First let me say thank you. I have been lurking here for years and finally I am about to graduate with an AAS in Military Technology and Leadership. I am currently taking the capstone and will finish in January, and tomorrow I take my English Comp II TECEP. I have been writing a paper every other week for that class (92 Average), and I have taken the comp 1 TECEP and passed last year. I am very nervous about this, as it is the last step for me to graduate. I have read all the posts I can find on here, but my question today is can anyone recommend a handbook?
I will stick with APA as it is the format I have been writing so far. I own The Hodges Harbrace Handbook, 18th Edition, but not sure if this will help or be the best tool for the job. I did not use it at all during Comp 1. I am going to go stop at B&N today on the way home. Would love to hear some suggestions as well as any last minute tips. I think the best tip I've read so far is to make sure I copy and paste my work, since I can not go back. Again, I appreciate any and all help with this.
Thanks!!

I haven't taken that specific TECEP, but like you, I did the English Comp I. You sound prepared -- good luck!

I took that TECEP and passed without studying at all. Yes, the Handbook you have will be fine. They haven't updated the APA or MLA formats since 2009, so anything after that is good.
I borrowed a Hodges Handbook from my local library, put post-it notes on the sections listed in the study guide, and did just fine. You're probably way more prepared than I was (although honestly, I didn't think taking the test was anywhere near as hard as a class would have been).

Well I finished the exam. Not sure how I did, but I will let you know how I made out. Average time is 2 weeks for grading I think.
