Annoyed!
#1
For the past month I've been trying to call my grad school so I can ask them if they can fill in an application for me to get a grant and nobody answers the phone...there's just an answering machine saying that all representatives are busy and that I should wait on the line so I waited for a half hour and nobody picked up... So I decided to just fax the application to them and I told them to call me when they get so I know it's taken care of and a week passed with no answer yet. I decided to call someone else from a different office to ask if she can do something and she told me the only way to get in contact with the financial aid office is by going in to them...but I can't cuz I'm in school every day from morn to night besides Sunday...and their closed on Sunday... Any advice?

I want to deliver it by hand but Adelphi is in long island and grad school is in Brooklyn and I finish school late...by the time I get to Brooklyn, LIU will be closed. Sunday I have off but LIU is closed. I called someone in a different office today and got my anger out but she can't help me...

I would say that you may have to take a day off to go and get this straightened out in person. It doesn't sound like they want to talk to people on the phone, not that I can blame them. I'm sure they would be so over run with phone calls that they would never get anything done. Besides since you are talking about finanical aid information they may want to play it safe and only deal with the student in person, so they don't violate any privacy rules. Take the day off and get everything done that you need to do at the school while you are there to make good use of the time. Good luck!

I wish I can but each day in my summer course at Adelphi is considered 3 days...I can't miss an 8 hour bio or anatomy lecture.

Is it just me or does it seem that an exception was made in your case. In most instances it is necessary to actually take care of financial aid info first hand, at least that has been my experience with five children, my spouse and myself. I think the school was extremely courteous to take your information in the manner that it did.

I never had to take care of these things 1st hand...it was always through fax, mail or email
