Do a search of this site in the upper right, there is a ton of great info about this exam since so many people take it. It is pretty easy for most people, basically a reading comprehension exam with added skills of poetry and "old English" interpretation. If you still want study info check out the CLEP Official Study guide at collegeboard.org/clep (which costs money), or check out the info that is found on this exam at free-clep-prep.com. Like other CLEP exams expect a 1.5 hour exam with multiple choice answers. Most people do great on that exam and it's even worth six credits at most schools Good Luck.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

You can't realistically study for this one. You either have the reading skills to get through it or you don't. Your best bet is follow the advice of the post before mine and read through what other people have said about it. Specifically test taking strategies for this exam. Things like not spending too much time on a question, reading the answers first, etc. Good luck This was one of only two CLEPS I took that I needed the full time allotment for.

You should brush up on your literature terminology like hyperbole, alliteration, onomatopoeia, assonance, similies, metaphors, personification, satire, irony, poetry rhythm (dactylic, anapestic, iambic, trochaic), connotation, syntax... It'll help you out a lot.

I concur with above. I took the test last week and the only hard part was remember what all the terminology mean. I took it
cold and earned a lower 70. |
