Hi all,
I found out about 2 months ago that I need to pass the American Lit Clep if I want to graduate in the summer 2016 instead of the fall. this is extremely important. I am an English Major but my only prior knowledge is from world lit and high school. I have been studying on here getting about 70% in every area. Sometimes more. I have an American Lit for dummies book and I have went through the entire book and made study cards. I feel like I have not been studying enough with my class load as well. I plan to try to study more in DEcember during break and then take it and hopefully pass.
I was wondering if anyone who has taken it can tell me what their experience was and how hard it really is. I really don't want to pay the 100$ and fail! and I really need to pass this thing!!

since you already subscribe to Instantcert there is a special specific exam feedback section available to subscibers, its on the bottom row of the page that you log into the forum on. I haven't taken A&I because I found that choosing genres and poetry types is my most weak area of education along with the other parts of the test. Numerous people with talent in interpreting literature have taken the test without prepping and got a passing grade.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :
InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

The exam content is almost entirely out of the Idiot's Guide. I've never looked at the Dummies Guide, but you need Idiots Guide to pass, and frankly, that's the only book you need.

A high school American Lit. textbook would also do. That, the REA and some flashcards were all I used.

Hi Ashlee,
I passed this in March with a 68. If you've you read through the entire Idiot's Guide and made flash cards, (which is what I did) you should have no problem at all. Take it sooner than Dec.; it's not that hard! Go get those credits.

Hey GAHenty, were the instantcert flashcards useful at all? Did you use them for this exam? I'm planning on taking this exam in the next two weeks or so... I'd appreciate any other feedback! Thank you in advance
