Hello fellow IC'ers!!!
Does anyone know of any regionally accredited institution (or one that is ACE evaluated) that offers an American Government course that is cheaper than $373 (including books) and grants at least 6 quarter hours or 4 semester hours.
The class at my local cc is called American Federal Government I and American Federal Government II. Each course is 3 quarter hours and I need both to satisfy this requirement for my AAS in Paralegal Studies.
My local cc charges $45 per credit hour and it is one textbook ($103) used for both courses; bringing my total to $373.
I also need the American Government for Excelsior too. So here are my options as of now:
(1) Take the American Government CLEP (my local cc accepts this) and then take the American Federal Government II course at my cc. Total costs will be $328 ($90 CLEP & $238 for course and book).
This will grant me 5 semester hours. I will receive 3 semester hours at Excelsior for the CLEP, and the A.F.G II course (upon transfer to Excelsior) will grant me another 2 semester hours (which I assume will be applied to General Ed Electives).
(2) Just take both courses at my local cc for a total cost of $373 ($45 per credit times 6 credits + $103 book fee.)
This will only grant me 4 semester hours. 6 quarter hours = 4 semester hours. So the one (1) extra credit will go towards Gen.Eds.
This will be a great option if I can use my financial aid to foot the bill.
Thanks for your help on this matter.
