They've paid for like 10 years - they're just expanding their program (eligible after 90 days instead of a year, no limit to benefits, and more degrees covered now).

Yeah, the only problem is that in order to take advantage of the program you have to actually work for Amazon.

For someone young with little work experience, this is not a terrible option; it's no worse than the others with this benefit, like Walmart, Target, Chipotle, Papa John's, Taco Bell, etc.

You're probably right, no better, no worse. In my area they have a bad rep. Poor treatment, high turnover rate. It may be better than nothing but only by a bit. It's true though that many of us started in such a way. For me it was Barnes&Noble. At least I got away with a few free books.
