Now I remember why I quit doing this. I truly hate this area of study (business/information systems). I don't want to work in this field. It stresses me, gives me a headache and makes me feel exhausted. I've always wanted to do the BA English, but the problem has been the cost because of the requirement for so many UL courses and a Non-Western Literature course. Just venting.

Study.com has a Non-Western Lit course coming! Shmoop UL Lit don't seem that much harder than their LL Lit.
You could also consider the BALS with a concentration in Humanities. It would be so flexible, but let you fit in English courses.

I'd want it to be a specific degree in English. I think the only other humanities degree I'd consider is psychology. Would be nice to do a dual AOS, but doubt I'd have time for that.
Which schmoop come in as UL do you know?

I feel you, I'm thankful to be able to earn a degree this way, but it made me realize how little interest I have in business. And made me really, really not want to do an MBA. But, I will have a RA bachelor's soon, and can pursue something that isn't so miserable to me.
So, just keep working at it. It is not fun, but it will be worth it.
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.
Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.

Are you looking to totally switch fields, or just get the degree to get the obligatory "has degree" checkbox?

Switch fields. I've worked as as a technical support technician, a programmer, a web designer/programmer and I simply hate it all. It's not that it's hard, I just really hate it! I like writing, creating art and woodworking. Those are things I actually enjoy but it seems you can't make money doing them, at least not where I live. And I'm too old to go into any of the trades.

My case is a bit atypical but I averaged a day or two on each class. It depends on how much time you have available AND how much of that time you're willing to put toward getting the work knocked out.

Switch fields. I've worked as as a technical support technician, a programmer, a web designer/programmer and I simply hate it all. It's not that it's hard, I just really hate it! Good for you for making the bold and scary decision to leave the field you're in! It's not an easy thing to do. I won't make a comment about the education path, but I would want to STRONGLY suggest that unless you have connections in your new field, that you start prepping for the job portion of it. Your degree will come quicker than anticipated, and unless you want an entry-level position, you'll have to have more on your resume than just a shiny new diploma.
Without knowing what you want to do, it's hard to suggest other activities, but there is almost always some sort of volunteer work to find. Even if you only do one hour of volunteer work a month, it's something that you can put on your resume! Perhaps you can also look in your day-to-day life for opportunities to do projects that will relate to your new career. These are projects and skills that you can put on a resume, and if you work for a large organization, a project could help push you into a new department. Of course, if you can get a new job in your same organization, talk to a manager and see if you can find a mentor - that will almost guarantee you get a position under your mentor, or at least get a recommendation from your mentor.
Lastly, if you're unhappy, remember that unless you plan on teaching or another profession that requires specific certifications, YOU CAN CHANGE NOW! Just re-write your resume to highlight what you do at your current position that relates to your desired position. Then, under education list your intended degree as in-progress.
Here is an example:
Thomas Edison State University: Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, anticipated 2019.
I did that from the MOMENT I started studying years ago. It was great because most employers just assume that you're almost done and you get the "has degree" checkbox." I did this when I started my MBA and from the moment I started telling my employer about my Global MBA, they helped me ease into more international business and slowly get out of the domestic business. By the time I got my MBA, I already had almost two years of international business at my company.
Hope that wasn't too long and rambly. Since I've been in hiring manager positions recently, I see so many people that think that a new degree or a shiny new certificate will do everything for them, so I try to pop up here and there to remind everyone that the value of a degree, while incredibly important, is significantly less than it used to be. YES, you need the checkbox, but no, it really doesn't mean much more than a checkbox to most employers unless your field is specialized.
