Not only that but I refuse to share how many months I just paid for her to finish the course. :willynilly:
Yep, I think you're in trouble!

In your defense, doesn't she remember struggling through this before?!?
namwen Wrote:Here's the thing: while she is in practice, what Clep do you recommend for writing that has more universal utility?
This is a tough question because the Big 3 handle the English Comp CLEPs differently.
All 3 will accept SL Eng 2, Technical Writing DSST, and A&I Lit CLEP (reading comprehension) for credit. SL Business Communication may be another one to consider.

The course was taken over 10 years ago. I think she stored the memory away with all of the other bad thing that have happened to her in her life. Poor baby.

As a math-person, I completely understand! I admire her for getting through it twice!

I understand the desire to move onto keep moving, momentum is everything sometimes. I think you need to tighten up the plan a little, decide where she wants to matriculate and what degree she specifically wants to pursue. No one can tell you which clep or class to take next unless you know where your headed.
By my estimation she could earn an AS at COSC with 5 exams/courses plus the Cornerstone course. It woul look as follows:
Ethics (3) Saylor Business Ethics Course for FREE (plus whatever the local library charges for test proctoring)
English Comp 2 (3) DSST Technical Writing
Speach (3) DSST Public Speaking
US Hustory/Gov (3) Any CLEP or DSST she likes
Non US history (3) AND Global Understanding componenet (3) is satisfied by a single exam the DSST Human Cultural Geography exam
And , of course, the Cornerstone
4 exams, 1 "free" saylor course, and the COSC class = AS DEGREE......should be able to cobble it all together for well under $2000 (maybe $1500 total)
She could easily be done by summer and on to a Bachelors degree.
Best,
Mike
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010
I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
