Advice on a second degree scheme?
#1
Hi everybody. First off, this forum has been very helpful so far in helping me get an idea of what I was getting into when I decided to do my Bachelor's 'speed run'. Thanks, everyone, for contributing your insight and info.

I've been thinking about pursuing a second bachelor's in Electrical Engineering at a more traditional university after finishing my 'test-out' degree with Excelsior, instead of going for the technical degree from Excelsior. For several practical reasons in my case, this would work wonderfully in theory. Has anyone done this yet? Does anybody know how willing other universities are (generally) to accept the credits from Excelsior in a situation like this? I'll be contacting University of Idaho in Moscow to see what they say in short order, but I figured asking here as well could only be helpful.

BSU was my first choice, actually. The way I understand it, a second bachelor's program there is not worth doing unless you have your first degree from BSU. Otherwise, none of your credits carry over: they make you start from scratch. I think U of I lets you carry over the applicable credits from your first degree like normal.
