Advice needed on writing essays

I have only tested so far, not taken actual classes. I did very well in high school in English class, but that was a very long time ago.

I'll admit I'm a little nervous about some upper level history classes I will be taking that require many essays to be written. I don't really remember much about listing sources, etc.

Should I take English Comp I, either through EC or Straighterline or is this something that I can teach myself?

I will be applying to grad school so I must have a high GPA. TIA

What school are you going to? At TESC you can take most of your upper level History course through CLEP/DSST/ECE testing. You only need one class to get a GPA so practice your essays before that class and study history int he mean time.

There are plenty of places online that can help you learn how to write an essay, and TESC does offer a free tutoring sight that will review and help you improve your essays. Google for info on persuasive 5 paragtaph essays.
