Advice for CLEP Business Law
#1
I am studying for the CLEP Business Law, and would like advice on what to study, etc. I am currently studying a business law book from 1980 that I had. I fear that it is too outdated. What books or other resources are good to prepare for this exam? What things should I focus on?

Does this exam require a lot of preparation and memorization? I am having trouble with all the laws, it seems that I would not be able to remember all the details. Does anyone have any tips to help?

BTW, I tried a search but the word "law" is too short to search, and business gives too many results.

Thanks,
LaceyLady

Thanks for the tip bb. That will really help.

Does anyone have any input on a good book to study? I see some posts saying that the REA book is poorly written or Barron's is too long and detailed or... It is hard to tell what book would be good.

Thanks

I reviewed the flashcards and read the REA book. I spent most time with the REA quizzes which I thought were very helpful.

I also have the barrons book but I felt the same way, too long and boring so I shelved it.

I recommend Barron's Business Law, in addition to Instacert. You can also use the book for the DSST Business Law II.

The REA book is excellent and the tests prepare you well for the exam.
I studied the REA book for 2 days all day long, then hit the exam feedback and took the test.
There is a great study guide out there in the exam feedback that helps bring things together.
This test is not really hard at all once you learn the material.
You need to know what bailment is, what constitutes a contract etc. Go look at my previous post when I completed it back in December. I found the REA book very interesting and easy to read.

I apparently own stock in REA though because I consistently recommend people actually read the book Smile

I agree. Used nothing but this. See sig for scores. Smile

agreed. Barrons Business law has everything you'll need. Specific chapters I reviewed are in the specific feedback forum for IC members.

Also you can use the same text (different chapters) to complete the DSST Business Law II.
