Advice: Taking a bunch of writing TECEPs tomorrow.
#1
I have three writing TECEPs I am taking tomorrow. ENC-101-TE Writing for Success, ENC-102-TE English Composition II, and ENG-201-TE Technical Writing. I just passed MAT 105 and CIS 107. I would have liked more time to prepare but I have been wall to wall slammed getting everything else I want done for my timeline.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Anything I can do to improve my chances? Anything you all struggled on?

Good luck, with this challenge, I have not heard someone in this forum doing 3 writing exams on the same day.
I don't have any experience with TECEP so what I took was English 1 and English at Sophia, and it was very heavy.

TESU - ASNSM ASBA, UNIR- Master Cyber Security
Completed:
TESU - BA Computer Science

Be careful with time management. On the only TECEP I took (Env Ethics), there were six essays. The structure of that test meant that I couldn't return to one once I went onto the next, and I couldn't look ahead to see which ones were likely to take more time. I also misjudged the time (divided by 5 instead of 6) and came up short of time on the last three. Almost failed it for that reason.

I don't know that's the case on these exams, but paying attention to time management is always a good idea.

At the last minute, there really isn't much you can do to 'cram' all that info. Take it easy and get it done...

Well since they are fresh on my mind there is quite a bit of cramming that you can do to improve your score:

1. MLA citing. Learn that well and you will pass ENC-102

That's it. Citations are 25+ points of the test. As long as you know them, nothing else besides normal writing is needed. There isn't any special knowledge you need for any of these tests besides how to do citations. Make sure your citation examples you bring with you in book form or however are clear, clean and accurate. Make sure you know how to copy them. I think you could study 1 hour on MLA and pass the course. They literally tell you the parts you need so you don't have to know them. They tell you when to include conclusions, when to cite, ect. Super easy. Wish I had spent more time studying the citations instead of hoping the book would be helpful.

All other courses were super easy.

I had some questions.
Because  I'm studying for MAT 105 too.

- Did the questions differ from the sample on the tesu.edu website?
- Was there a formula sheet provided from them?
- What was your score? You think it matched your studying effort?

From TESU website: "An official transcript will not show a numeric score, a letter grade, an NC (No Credit) or NT (Not Taken) grade, only exams successfully completed and the number of credits earned."
Does that mean you got a free shot ($156 registration fee aside) with no consequence transcript-wise for failing a TECEP exam?

Yes, there is no consequence for failing a TECEP exam.  Except that if it's for a course you absolutely need, you can only retake it once.  After that, you'd have to take the course, or find a course elsewhere.
