I've never taken any of these courses and they generally have limited utility because they likely have education-related prefixes.
The Problem Solving course gets this prefix from Loyola Marymount: MTHX 901.
Haha. Can't we just get rid of that little X?
Teaching Jazz gets MUSX 908 from Loyola Marymount.
So, I think that the value proposition is still not quite there. It is about $130 per credit hour for very marginal math and science classes at Loyola Marymount. This is especially true given the straight-up subject area prefixes at Fresno Pacific. There are some interesting classes, however. Get rid of the X and/or bring the price below $100 per credit and we have something.

Minimum Requirements: "
18 graduate semester hours in mathematics, statistics, applied science or related discipline courses in the teaching or application of algebra, calculus or finite mathematics + master's degree"
So that is the interesting paragraph. Would these courses with a MTHX prefix get a person to the minimum 18?
Of course, the person would need to be able to actually teach the classes and make the connections with the school/committee/etc.

All of the California UC Extension schools have an X in the prefix as well (UC Berkeley Extension, UC San Diego Ext, UC Davis Ext, etc.)

Hmmm. These credits might be tempting.

I actually think that the "X" might be okay after thinking about it. These are basically education courses that focus on teaching the subject in the course. That usually makes them less difficult than a true subject area course. In most situations like this, the course gets an education-related prefix and that's why I originally questioned them. However, dfrecore made the great point that many subject area courses at university extension programs get the "X" prefix. This means that these courses very likely will look like subject area courses to the registrars at other schools. This means that these might actually be a very good value.

I'm thinking X courses couldn't count toward "18 graduate semester hours".

I don't think you can say that just because UC-system schools use X in the course number makes all courses with an X in them comparable, or that schools will treat them equally.
This is a case where you would have to check to see how they would come in to any school you were interested in bringing them into, individually.
