Hey I am going to take this test soon. I was wondering if you can pass the test by only using the annuity tables and not getting a calculator. I have become pretty familiar with the tables but don't know have a financial caluculator and don't know how to use one. Also using a calculator means you have to know different formulas. Any input?

Took the test 3 weeks ago, didn't have a calculator, didn't look at the tables. Failed by 9 points. Attending class as we speak. Good luck!

I learned to use the TI BAII Pro in a day and I am sure I too would be taking the class if I had not used it. Feedback on this forum is that not all the tables you need are provided. There were no tables at all in my version of the exam. As for knowing formulas, there were a couple of problems where I needed to know a formula because I didn't learn all the calculator's functions, but the BAII does most of the thinking.

I couldn't conclusively determine that I would be able to bring a calculator so I arranged for the tables to be faxed to the testing site for my use. Click on the link for Finance in my signature below for more info.
