ALEKS quesiton with ACE closed till 1/1
#1
I am taking the the ALEKS Intermediate Algebra assessment to fulfill 'Electives in Intellectual and Practical Skills' for TESC BSBA per my (thank you Sanantone and others) degree plan, and I am pretty confident I will get over 70%. If not I can fill in the pie during my time off next week and would like to move on to College Algebra and get it knocked out. Just College Algebra, correct? Not with Trig.

My understanding is that upon completing the ALEKS evaluation with over 70%, I just go to ACE and request ALEKS transcript for a $40 fee and wait for it to transfer BEFORE starting another course by assigning it to my student account.

ACE says they are closed until 1/1/2015. SO, if have to let that Intermediate Algebra percolate until after the 1st, is my only option to create another student account for $20, assign College Algebra to that student, then after the Intermediate goes through on the 1st student, take the assessment as the 1st student?

ughhh that's a pickle. I worry that you'll have to use the same SS# to do that. You could see if people at ALEKS are taking calls tomorrow. I think it is possible that ALEKS could walk you through creating 2 users with your name/SS# so you don't risk losing the completion data from your Intermediate class while you're working out your College Algebra. If you don't have it saved in ACE before you switch ALEKS classes, you for sure 100% will lose record of your first class.:ack:

(you don't have to pay ACE until you're done accumulating ACE credits and then you'll pay $40 once, with all your classes on it)

FINALLY! ACE approved Intermediate Algebra! YAY! My 1st credits :hurray:
With the situation as it was, I had to create a 2nd student for College Algebra. Now I can finally log in as my main student account and take the College Algebra assessment. I am planning on plowing on and picking up the Pre-Calculus credits while I am at it.

I have to say, if you are REALLY want to learn (no just use online tools like Wolfram etc) or refresh your Algebra skills, ALEKS is Awesome. I thought I remembered a good amount of the subject matter from my school days, but I was mistaken. ALEKS ferreted out my weak spots in Beginning Algebra and I concentrated on those skills.

You must make sure you do your best at answering assessment questions. Clicking 'I dont't know' will get ALEKS to DEEP DIVE into that part of it and you WILL spend a lot of time on that section. Also, do not just get a 70% and move on to next level. ALEKS approaches this in a modular fashion. If you work through the pie in order, you may score above 70% without even seeing some of the other skills it will teach you. You will need some of those skills at the next level.

I wish ALEKS had been around when I was in school. Well, that AND computers, AND the internet I guess
