TESC BA in Natural Sciences Mathematics Plan

Hi all,

I created an account to get feedback on my plan to finish my degree at TESC with the below credits, let me know what you think and if these would work. Red are credits I still need.

2. At least three different subjects must be included, which provides for breadth of knowledge in the natural sciences/mathematics. Also, students must earn at least 12 credits in one subject area. A maximum of 18 credits can be earned in any one subject area in order to have a balanced interdisciplinary concentration.

3. Courses transferred to Thomas Edison State College are equated to the following levels: 100, 200, 300 or 400. A maximum of two college-level courses equating to the 100 level can be applied toward the area of concentration. A minimum of 18 credits equating to 300 or 400 Thomas Edison State College courses are required.


4. LIB-495 Liberal Arts Capstone is required. (3) Need to take from TESC.

I don't think homeland security management will count as humanities. None of your business/accounting courses can be used in general education. Just move those to free electives. I was going to point you to free sources of credit for free electives, but you won't need them because of all of the business courses. You might be able to use CIS 120 as a gen ed elective, but you would need an evaluation for that.

As far as the natural science courses/tests you've planned, I don't know if you really want to take them or if you think those are your only options.

Regarding the concentration I actually do want to get into more advanced math and I figure going through calc 1-4 would be help me with that. The others were courses I was interested in.
