I reached out in January 2017 to ask them about ACE recommendation coming back (I also suggested they consider NCCRS if they were having issues with ACE). Their reply made it sound like they didn't renew on purpose for some reason, but they didn't elaborate. I was thinking that maybe the person who handled it left, or the cost was too much? I don't know. In any case, it didn't sound like it was coming back.
Then, several months ago, ACE reactivated many (but not all) of their prior courses. At that point a note from their customer team made it sound like they were planning to renew everything, including the stuff that didn't get extended this time around. However, it indicated that they were still in process of working with ACE on reviews. That was a few months ago and I don't recall seeing any further updates.
Just an FYI, they did not "lose" ACE recommendation - the process for this is initiated by and paid for by the course provider, not ACE, and it's normally given for a specific 3-year period. Once you get ACE recommendation, they don't pull your approval (I've not heard of that happening). Instead, the company may choose (or not) to re-up for another round of ACE. If they choose not to, then they just let the approval expire, and their courses are no longer ACE-approved. SL has chosen to do this for some of their courses. CLEP and DSST also choose to do this occasionally. They just let a course (or more than one) expire, I'm guessing because it's not profitable.
Didn't I say that? As I mentioned above, I was told they chose not to renew, so the recommendation was lost after their approval expired. I am not aware of how the recommendation or renewal approval process works, but I was pretty specific that ACE didn't pull their recommendation.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23
