AA Degree by CLEP only
#1
HI

Are there any full accredited schools where you can use only CLEP to earn an Associates degree? I need to earn an AA quickly and id like to test out of all the classes.

I appreciate the help in advance.

Thanks
Dave

It's an AAS, not an AA, but I think it might be the closest you can get. Schools require residency, you know. http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...egree.html

That requires 12 credits at an RA institution with 3 hours residency.

One of the Big 3 should do it. TESU has the AA in General Studies, and does not require a capstone. You'll pay $300 for the cornerstone (self-paced) and $2000 for a residency waiver. If you continue on with your degree there, you shouldn't have to pay the $2000 RW a second time when you finish your BA/BS.

COSC also has an AA in General Studies, they require both a cornerstone and capstone (I think a capstone is required). They have a page showing exactly how to test out of their gen ed requirements: Standardized Exams / Testing for Credit | Charter Oak State College

I don't think you'll be able to use only CLEP, you may have to use DSST's at the minimum, and they both accept ALEKS math, as well as the free Ethics course: Preserve the trust on which insurance transactions are based with an understanding of ethics.

as stated above, you'll need at least the DSST Principles of Public Speaking and an Information Literacy course from somewhere
Thomas Edison State University: Associate in Arts

You can use the A&I Lit CLEP to get Info Lit done. But you can't get Speech done with CLEP.

really ?
I thought info literacy was the course on how to do research, how to evaluate sources, how to use the internet

Excelsior has a one credit course for that which I thought was completely different from the CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature

What EC requires for Info Lit is completely different from what TESU requires. TESU has several courses that can be used, A&I Lit CLEP, Tech Writing DSST, TECEP, or Study.com, World Religion DSST, SL or Study.com - what any of those has to do with Info Lit I don't know, but they all work.
