I'm taking my American Literature exam on Thursday and I just wanted to ask a few final questions so I can direct my studying in the right direction to make the most of my remaining study time before the exam.
What works (books, poems, etc.) are the absolute most important to know in detail? The majority of these books, I haven't actually read in whole. I've been trying to memorize who wrote what and what plots and characters match each book. I feel I've done a decent job of that, but there are the occasional practice test questions that really throw me off. Especially the ones that contain an entire paragraph or two and ask what book its from. Sometimes I'm able to read through and find a character that gives away the book, but others I'm completely lost as the paragraph gives nothing like that away. Maybe I'm worrying about this bit a little too much but I wanted to make sure I'm prepared.
How many questions can I expect on interpreting literature paragraphs? I've already taken Analyzing and Interpreting Literature and done very well, even though it was harder for me than what my score reflected. Is the interpretation on American Lit more difficult than the A&I exam? Just curious.
I've spent the last week or so going over random Quizlet flashcard tests and the REA practice exams. On the REA, I received a 74% on one test and a scaled score of 53 on the other, and I feel like I've been able to retain a lot more information since then, so I'm hoping this means I'm prepared. I've been pretty nervous about this and I've had moments of going back and forth between being really confident and being really concerned.
I meant to ask these questions on the previous thread I posted, but for some reason I couldn't find it. After this, I have about three weeks to prep for English Literature, which I probably know even less about. Any additional advice on that would be helpful as well!
