5 Ways You Can Be Discriminated Against Based on Your College Choices

5 Ways You Can Be Discriminated Against Based on Your College Choices

  1. NA vs. RA (national vs. regional accredited)

A NA degree will face problems such as getting credits transferred and professional licensing, among other problems.

  2. Grades

Some people might not realize that a minimum of 3.0 GPA is required to get into some graduate programs. A lot of people suggest putting your GPA on your resume if you earn a 3.5 GPA or better.

  3. Program You Choose

We had multiple reports on DF that all coders who didn't specifically have a computer science or engineering degree for a tech firm were laid off. While this would be a logical fallacy, an IT or English major could be a better coder than a computer science major. Some employers have biases and will favor people that have certain majors

  4. College You Choose

It's no secret that some employers might favor certain colleges. One thing some people do is get their undergrad at whatever college, then go get their master's at one of the top 150 colleges.

It's a shame that it has come to this but in today's society, despite civil rights protections, some employers could discriminate against people that went to religious colleges.

  5. Total RA Credits Completed

To become a CPA, you need to follow state guidelines which may require a certain amount of RA courses. To apply to law school, they require 60 RA credits to submit your GPA. Some master's programs could have certain RA requirements. (Some could take NA credits)
