I believe TECEPs are either proctorU or paper depending on the exam (At least that's the way it was last year)

On your last comment, you are basically correct. It is better to try to fill your requirements first. Then you can take the remainder for fun. As long as they fit in your degree somewhere, they will either fill in your requirements or bump your existing credit.

While I'm waiting is/are there any tecep's that I can sign up for and start studying knowing for a fact I will have to complete? I know I have to take 8, so should I start enrolling? Also where can I go (sign up for instancert, ((have no idea what that is)) or best way to study to pass these exams on the first try)

How difficult are these exams? how many questions are they usually? 60% does seem to have some leeway though

Have you already been accepted? You should probably wait until your eval is done so you are not wasting effort, but if you want to start studying I would concentrate on the following (as they fill in some missing requirements);

Environmental Ethics was designed with Saylor.org in mind. Saylor has free study material that will help pass this exam.

Also, try studying for the Eng II TECEP. I'm just worried that TESC will count another course for that requirement and you would have wasted your time.

Unfortunately, CLEP and DSST exams do not contribute to the OPs degree plan at the moment. His target is to the the per credit plan with TESC. He has approx 110 credits and the remainder need to be completed by TECEP/Online courses with additional TECEPs to get the 24 cr "residency".

So i have a pretty big development but I did not want to start a new thread. Hopefully you guru's can help me out. As I originally intended I want to pursue my cfp designation. It requires multiple education pieces one of them principally is the undergrad degree. They also require coursework. One of the courseworks that will satisfy is an undegraduate degree from a local university to me https://wwwlocal.barry.edu/personal-financial-planning/

So a lightbulb went off. What if I could knock out al the birds with one stone? It may not be the quickest and cheapest route to satisfying my bachelor degree. But it would be the quickest route in terms of satisfying all the education components. As for the required coursework the cheapest certification course (non degree) that i have found is roughly $4000 and would take obviously quite a bit of time.
This seems like a great discovery on the surface but i have not been ablento piece what my transcipt would look like at Barry to finish this program ( i do gather that i would need to take 21 credits of the specialized course with them plus 9 more credits since they only allow a total of 90 total credits transferred in) and I havent been able to figure out my costs. (30 credits plus additional whatever costs)

If the total comes out to 6000 or less it is a no brainer as i would spend 1200 doing teceps plus 4000 minimum in coursework for the cfp afterwords. Where as i could finish this program and instantly apply for the exam ( i would do an exam prep either route i took)
Can any of you gurus help me and tell me if my plan makes sense?

*EDIT* big fat edit and a bummer. I just realized 30 credits is going to run over 28k at this university. Looks like im better off starting the process of finishing my undergrad through teceps and getting started on coursework for the cfp simultaneously through a certificate program.

*edit2* Just thought of something else though. Barry is private. What if I could finish my undergrad degree at a location that would qualify for the cfp education requirement piece at another university? Is there any chance that any of those on the list would have a much lower total cost?

It's possible. Most of us on here are mostly versed on the three assessment colleges (TESC, EC, COSC). It's going to be difficult to beat TESC's price with the TECEP exams, but as you said, if you are going to have to take a CFP exam course anyway, there may be savings.

Although I can't help you very much, I would encourage you to look around to find a program that fits your needs witch schedule, cost and exam readiness. If not, you can always do your original plan.

EDIT: To beat your original cost, you are going to have to find a school that is less than $200 per credit. ($200 x 30 cr = $6,000). Find your maximum price you're willing to pay, divide that by 30, that would be your per credit price point, find schools that meet your price, schedule and readiness. Keep in mind also, that some schools may not accept all your credits for transfer (happened to me with Univ of Wyoming).

Thanks, Prloko, I did do basically what you recommended...go through the different places that offer what Im looking for the best option is in jacksonville at UNF.edu and they dont offer a distance learning program which is a shame, as their cost are very low for in state student...looks like original plan is going to be the way to go.
