English comp 1 and 2 - Ep2016 - 11-30-2017

Looking for feedback on if i should take CLEP for english comp 1 and 2 or I should take them separately.

If separetely, where would be easiest and fastest? I started study.com but feels that it will take a long time.

Thoughts???

CLEP has 2 exams: College Comp with or without Essay, and College Comp Modular.

Depending on the college you're at, they determine which exam(s) they will take and how many credit you will get for them.

At TESU for example, College Comp w/Essay is 6cr and counts for English Comp I & II. College Comp Modular or College Comp w/o Essay are each 3cr and count for English Comp I. EC won't accept either exam as a replacement for English Comp I or II. I'm not sure what COSC requires.

Planning to transfer to tesu. Started looking into Clep then switch gear to study.com. Just wondering which is the faster and easier route

Obviously taking a test is the fastest route. Easiest depends on you and what you're good at.

I took the English Comp II TECEP and it was easy to me. I passed without studying.

Lots of other people here take the CLEP, SL, and Study.com. I don't think it's a favorite on SL.

I used the CLEP to count for English 1 & 2 at TESU. My advice is to test out unless you think you need to work on your college writing / academic writing. Both my sons took the classes through Straighterline and both got a LOT of practice writing which has helped them both! I remember doing it years before, but I took many classes at TESU too, so by the time I got to grad school I felt comfortable enough that it wasn't too bad. But- if writing is in your future, you'll need to be able to do it, either learning on your own or though a class. Just my two cents. Wink

I took the CLEP for 1 and the DSST for 2 as I loathe writing anymore. Both were moderately easy for me to pass after reviewing with Modern States, and I was happy to not have to write anything! I had just finished my capstone so was beyond done of writing. HA!
