Hi guys!
I'm at the start of week 2 of my liberal studies Capstone at TESU and I am just banging my head against the wall repeatedly over this course. My mentor, Dr. Caicco, has been fairly helpful, but I am having a hard times connecting the dots on how to go about the creative project.
My background is in black and white fine art photography, so that's the area I'll be working with. After some back and forth with the mentor, my understanding is that the focus is not placed on the creative aspect of the project but the question that you are addressing. Some of his suggestions have been to explore ethics in photography, real vs "fake" photos, etc. While there's a number of areas that could obviously be explored, I'm not understanding how it ties in with a creative project. It seems that my biggest issue here stems from the fact that when I was in school for photography, the emphasis was on learning techniques and producing work, not exploring issues or gaps in the field and then applying them to the work or having that be the basis of the work.
I've been looking for examples of other creative Capstone projects but haven't come across much. Has anyone here done a creative project? Looking for any guidance I can get on this!
