TESC may say they duplicate each other and may not accept all 3

I'm confused

Java Programming 1-Pre-Req to JAVA 2 "Community College / CSI-161

Programming 1 in Java (Community College)"

is this one course or two courses
Java Programming 1
Programming 1 in Java ?

College Mathematics is below College Algebra. You need at least College Algebra and another math course that is higher like Precalculus or Calculus. For Physics I and II or Chemistry I and II, you need the labs. A CLEP or any other test won't give you lab credit at TESC. For the second science, there are easier tests such as the DSST for Environment and Humanity: Race to Save the Planet. If you don't want to bother with the economics course, you can move Ethics in America to the Responsibility Ethical Leadership requirement and take a diversity test such as Intro to World Religions or General Anthropology. Like Bluebooger said, you can't use CLEP Information Systems and DSST Intro to Computing. Those duplicate.

It doesn't look like you listed a course for "Foundations of Information Technology." You might be able to use the community college course for Computing and Information Technology. You can earn 4 CIS courses for free from TEEX. They are ACE-approved, and two of them are upper level. For the free electives, you can take FEMA and/or NFA courses for free. There are also another two business credits you can earn from TEEX for free.

Where do I find out more information about these options? (TEEX, FEMA, NFA courses)

Oh wow this really helps!

Chemistry CLEP not needed? I didn't realize that the labs would be needed.

Java 1 Programming and Java 2 Programming are both separate courses at the Community College she will be taking classes at.

DSST for Environment and Humanity: Race to Save the Planet - haven't looked at those but will now.

The economics course, you can move Ethics in America to the Responsibility Ethical Leadership

Can't use CLEP Information Systems and DSST Intro to Computing * duplicate - drats

"Foundations of Information Technology." You might be able to use the community college course for Computing and Information Technology

Sorry, I was typing too fast. If you don't want to bother with the Straighterline course, you can move the Ethics in America DSST and use a diversity test for the Personal and Social Responsibility Elective.

TEEX

Cyber Security for Business Professionals is the equivalent of MAN-299 at TESC. This would be a free elective in your degree plan. In order to get the two credits for this, you would have to complete Business Information Continuity, Information Risk Management, and Cyber Incident Analysis and Response.

Cyber Security for Everyone is the equivalent of CIS-299. In order to get those two credits, you have to complete Information Security for Everyone, Cyber Ethics, and Cyber Law and White Collar Crime.

Cyber Security for IT Professionals is the equivalent of CIS-344. In order to get those two credits, you have to complete Information Security Basics, Secure Software, Network Assurance, and Digital Forensics Basics.

TEEX Information Technology / Online Training
ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training

NFA

There are two or three online NFA courses that are evaluated by ACE.
ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
NFA Online Course Catalog

FEMA

FEMA courses are not evaluated by ACE or NCCRS, but they are accepted as free electives for most degree programs at TESC.

Emergency Management Institute | Independent Study (IS) - Course List

They don't make it clear on the website, but when I use the "what if" function in Online Student Services to see how my credits would fit in the BSAST, it says that physics I and II with lab or chemistry I and II with lab would be needed. I'm just now seeing that Foundation of Information Technology is CMP-202.
