DSST Astronomy or Environment and Humanity
#1
I need to meet one more science requirement after having failed CLEP Biology. Any suggestions from those of you who have taken these, had to make the same decision or know of others in this situation? I am NOT a science girl at all. I passed DSST Here's to Your Health without much fuss (especially compared to the torture I put myself through with Biology) and would really like another one that may come to me more naturally like the health one did.

Any advice/thoughts is much appreciated!!

I took them both and personally found Astronomy easier but only because I have some history with the subject and just needed to brush up on the material based on the guidelines on the official exam fact sheet. Studying for the exam was strictly memorization of facts. I used InstantCert, some freely available material, crammed for about a week, and that was that.

Environment and Humanity wasn't overly difficult despite my lack of background in the subject and since you've already done extensive study for biology you already have a leg up on the material. I used InstantCert, the Environmental Science SparkChart to get an overview, and the Princeton Review title Cracking the AP Environmental Science Exam for more detailed study.

Exam Fact Sheets:

Astronomy: http://www.getcollegecredit.com/download...ronomy.pdf

The fact sheets and sample questions might help you get an idea of what to expect.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't know about my Biology studies as an advantage since I bombed on that exam!

I just took this exam and passed with a 65. For study materials, I used the B&N Spark Charts and an AP Environmental Science guide.
