Hi everyone. First off I'd like to thank all the vets on this board for your advice & support, I never would have found out about FEMA courses w/o you. A brief bio: I'm a 47 yr old man who has worked as a field service tech for over 20 yrs in basic electronics, electromechanical stuff. I've worked for Lucent, Kodak, Ecolab in the past. I'm trying to get back into the "big leagues" once again but the "DEGREE" seems to be holding me back with major companies such as Siemens. (and my age, lol) My questions are: I'm thinking of going with TESC now because of the per credit option. I'd like to have "a degree" right now on my resume, such as AAS Degree in Electrical-Mechanical Systems and Maintenance. My questions are: if I use my FEMA now for AAS will I lose that option later for free electives for a BA/BS in say, psych? (I have all 27 allotted right now, the AAS uses 15). Also, how do test credits such as clep, dsst get "reused" from one to the other? I haven't tested as yet. In your opinion, is it wise to pursue one before the other if money is an issue and I might lose the FEMA's? Thanks in advance!!

Whatever credits you use for your AAS can be used for your BA in Psychology as long as they are applicable and can fit. For example, your FEMAs can still be used as free electives. Your Electrical-Mechanical Systems and Maintenance courses will probably only fit into free electives in a psych degree. TESC will more than likely put those courses in your degree plan first bumping out some FEMAs if there's not enough room.

Thanks sanantone. You're probably right concerning the 21 "option" credits being specific I guess (need to research that further), but all 21 general ed's are likely to transfer over maybe? And test out per wiki plans? So in theory at least 21 gen ed + 27 fema free elect would transfer over to BA, is that correct? Also looks like the capstone is specific to the study; more money to spend.....

Yes, gen eds and free electives will likely transfer over if there is enough room. Like I said, TESC will probably use the electrical courses for free electives before they use FEMAs. That means there will not be enough room for all of the FEMAs to be used in the BA. This will make your transcript look better anyway.
